Figs and Olives



Figs and olives were mentioned in the Holy Quran and this is the largest evidence that they have therapeutic properties for human health. In the first Quranic verses in sura al Teen, the health benefits of fig and olives are discussed in the Quran says: {I swear by the Fig and the Olive} (47).


- Figs

They’re rich in calcium, fiber, anti-oxidants, potassium, iron, magnesium, and vitamin C.

Because of the high beneficial nutrients in figs, they are important in treating:

1- Constipation

2- Osteoporosis (bone loss)

3- Hair loss

4- Acne

5- Anemia

6- Cancer

7- Infections


- Olives

They’re rich in monounsaturated fats (good fats), anti-oxidants, iron, copper, and calcium.

Because olives are high in several vitamins and minerals, they are important in treating:

1- Heart diseases

2- Inflammations

3- Osteoporosis

4- Cancer



Scientific medical studies have showed that fruits (figs and olives) are beneficial for health, and also showed their great benefits come when they are eaten together, which is a scientific miracle in the Quran indicates the ability and wisdom of God. This is done by eating one piece of fig and seven pieces of olive. This's because figs were mentioned once in in the Quran and olives were mentioned seven times. Interestingly, the Methalonids found in figs can only be highly effective when mixed with olives.
